Above all, we aim to create beautiful pieces that make women feel good when they wear them. Through our design-first approach, each of our capes, wraps, and belts is handmade with the utmost attention to detail.

Where Olds Meet New
Artisan communities all over the world are struggling to keep their age-old heritage alive. The Indian Himalayas is just one region where lack of opportunities have created large scale migration to cities in search of employment.
This has forced artisans, most of them women, to give up on the one thing that makes them experts - their craft. At JULAHAS, we work with rural crafts groups in remote villages, training them in new skills, while connecting them to global markets.
Keeping Craft Alive
We work with a network of artisan groups and designers to create versatile, handcrafted pieces that bring traditional skills into contemporary wardrobes.
Many of our artisan partners are based in communities across India, and we work with them through ongoing production orders for weaving, knitting, embroidery and other craft techniques.
Through these collaborations, we bring their skills and craftsmanship to a wider audience — creating pieces that connect the hands that make them with the people who wear them.
From Village to Wardrobe
From the materials we choose to the way our pieces are made and packed, we look for ways to work thoughtfully with what already exists.
We use natural fibres such as wool, cotton, linen and silk across our collections, sourcing many of our materials through our artisan and mill partners in India.
Our designs are created with fabric use in mind. Some silhouettes use the full woven panel to avoid cutting offcuts, while leftover yarns and fabric scraps are incorporated into other pieces wherever possible.
For every purchase made, we plant one tree through our One for One initiative.
Personal Touch
As a small business located in Amsterdam, we believe that brands don't have to be faceless. Our founder, Kanak, plays a large part in every aspect of the brand.
