Peace Silk: Unlike conventional silk, Ahimsa Silk or Peace Silk waits until the moth matures and emerges naturally from the cocoon. Our Scarves use 100% Tussar Silk in production. Tussar silk is cooler than the other varieties of silk, as it is a lot more porous, therefore, breathable. It is light, airy and comfortable. The silk from this Natural fibre is porous, light and breathable.

Unique Design: Blockprinted on Peace Silk by India-based Aeshaane, our scarf recreates the iconic Madras Check using blockprinting as a technique and is handmade at Aeshaane's in-house workshop in a small village in Bengal.

Small Batch Production: The fabric for each piece is printed after an order is placed to reduce wastage and while cutting and tailoring, our team looks at ensuring zero wastage.

Much of the Tussar Silk used in the production of these Ponchos is produced in Bhagalpur (where it is called Bhagalouri silk), Bihar, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and In recent years, Tussar silk production has become an economic lifeline for villagers in Jharkhand. The Kharsawa district of Jharkhand is considered to be the epicentre, that accounts for more than 40% of total Tussar Silk production in India.
